School holidays usually start about now and what a frenzy of special activities have preceded this school break-up. The end of the school year, with plays and prizes, and Christmas time with its parties, gifts, singing and fun are all rolled together with a final mammoth clean-up. Added to this there is the anticipation of the holiday to come: fun, travel, relaxation, cooking and family togetherness.
Things to do
- Start a holiday scrapbook of photos, tickets from places you've been, small pressed flowers and leaves and any other bits and pieces. Write in your scrapbook too!
- Sing a song...
Rudolf - J. Marks
Rudolf the red-nosed reindeer
Had a very shiny nose
And if you ever saw it
You would even say it glows.
All of the other reindeer
Used to laugh and call him names,
They never let poor Rudolf
Join in any reindeer games.
Then one foggy Christmas Eve
Santa came to say:
"Rudolf with your nose so bright,
Won't you guide my sleigh tonight?"
Then how the reindeer loved him
As they shouted out with glee:
"Rudolf the red-nosed reindeer,
You'll go down in history!"
- Make and fly a kite...
