My Quilts 2018

Sand and Sea is a quilt made for my grand nephew Alby and reflects on the tropical place where his Mum and Dad met and married.

Stepping Stones is a quilt made for my grand nephew Zac who will love to search for tiny things in these blocks.

Dancing Gorillas is a quilt that has used up lots of orphan blocks from various sources. The gorilla blocks and their mid green borders came from Jenny some years ago. I am donating this to Taronga Zoo for fundraising. They seem quite pleased with the idea.

The pink quilt is called Pink Peepers and was donated as part of a competition to the McGrath Foundation.

This picnic/play mat is for Desley and Jack and their grandchildren.  I hope they have fun and don't get too sea sick looking at it. I called it Red Squares.

I made this quilt for the single bed in the caravan at the block. It actually won a prize in the Milton Show. It is called Chook Scraps. The original blocks were my teaching blocks for the Kogarah Library group. The fabrics were all chook fabrics that Surrey had bought me. I then finished it with a yellow shirt of Surrey's and other chook fabrics that he had bought me over the years.

I made two of these placemats for Heather, one for her at home and one for when she visits my place.

Happy Birthday Heather
The other side of the placemat
