Our Last Day in Japan

This morning Robyn and I packed and checked our bags in to collect later. We met Margaret and headed for our adventure for three to the Institute of Nature Study at Meguro, just three train stops from the hotel.

The park has been left to just grow naturally with wetlands and forest areas. Of course there is a path through the park but it was so peaceful. The numbers are limited each day but it is not top of the tourist list so it was just great to get away from the crowds. Just to prove it is all quite natural a snake slithered across our path on our way out.

Back on the train to the hotel where we all caused problems again with the staff by sitting anywhere we could (not enough seats).

I did a little bit of sashiko stitching for Karen and spent time chatting for a few hours before it was time to collect our bags and board our bus for Narita airport. The trip only took an hour (very quick apparently) so we got there very early and had time to wander and have some dinner.

As the flight did not leave until 8:50pm we were all ready for a sleep when we boarded for our long flights back to Sydney via Singapore.

Home exhausted but happy. Wow! What a fantastic trip. Thank you Lynn and Deborah.
